The Benefits of Blogging for Business

What is business blogging?

Before we get started, let us talk about what blogging means. Hubspot describes Business blogging as “a marketing tactic that uses blogging to get your business more online visibility. A business blog is a marketing channel (just like social media, direct mail, email marketing, etc.) that helps support business growth.”
There is ample information available online about why businesses should focus on creating some blogs…

Here are 4 Reasons why you should blog:

1-Helps increase traffic to your website

website traffic
How often do you update your website? You probably don’t update your ‘about’ page very often, eh?

If you want to grow your website traffic hits without making a huge amount of changes to your site… that’s where blogging becomes essential!

Every time you post a blog, it adds another indexed page for your website. Basically, that means it will benefit your SEO and give you more opportunity to be visible in search engines and increase traffic to your website. Blogging can also help you get noticed via social media since its content can be shared on social platforms and increase the exposure of your organization, especially to those that don’t know about you.

The content of blogs can also serve as content for your social media and thus reinforce your social media strategy.

2- Converting traffic into leads

Every time you post a blog, keep in mind that every blog post creates an opportunity to generate leads via a call-to-action.

This call-to-action can often be found when you sign up to things like free e-books, white papers, fact sheets, webinars, etc, where someone would be willing to fill out a form and give out their information to receive content.

3-It helps you be recognized as an authority of information

Blogs should provide value to those reading it by answering common questions potential and current clients may have. Ideally, you would want to have content that may be appealing to your target persona.

4-Helps your objectives in the long run.

I’ll talk about this with an example: let’s say you posted a blog yesterday. It got you 10 views and 1 lead. Maybe you get another 50 views and 5 more leads today as people find it on social media, etc. Now your blog post is in ranking in search engines, which means more traffic and leads once again.

Blogging can be tedious for many but it’s basically a way to increase traffic while sleeping. One post yesterday could mean thousands of views and leads in the future.

Make blogging fun, post about relevant topics your audience will be interested in!
